Gianluigi Viscusi received a master’s degree in philosophy from the Università degli Studi di Milano  in 2001, with a thesis on the thought of the French philosopher Michel Foucault (supervisor Prof. Carlo Sini).

In November 2007 he received a Ph.D. in Information Society from University of Milano Bicocca (thesis title   ‘SERVICE, ICT, VALUE – A value based framework to support the preliminary design and planning of ICT enabled services’. Supervisor Prof. Giorgio De Michelis – Tutor Prof. Carlo Batini).

He has been post-doc research fellow at the Department of Informatics, Systems and Communication (DISCo) of the University of Milan Bicocca from 2007 to 20013.

He is currently research fellow at Chair of Corporate Strategy and Innovation (CSI) of the EPFL, Lausanne, Switzerland.

The current research considers the following topics

  • Policy and Technology Innovation (focus on social value and open government)
  • Information production and policy making (information value)

The domains of application at present are public sector, newspapers, financial sector, manufacturing and utilities.
